France gathering leaders for second urgent meeting on Ukraine

France is preparing a second meeting with leaders of Western countries to discuss Ukraine. Those who were not at the first meeting will be invited.

Reuters reported this, citing sources.

Norway, Canada, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Finland, Romania, Sweden and Belgium are expected to be represented at the second meeting. Some of the leaders of these countries may join via video link.

The previous meeting took place in France on February 17 after the U.S. announced the start of negotiations with russia on ending the war in Ukraine without the participation of Europe and Kyiv.

Representatives of the European Council, the European Commission, the NATO Secretary General, Denmark, Spain, Poland and Germany attended the meeting at that time.

One of the key issues was the deployment of troops to Ukraine to monitor a possible peace agreement.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced his readiness to deploy British troops to Ukraine to ensure the implementation of the upcoming peace agreement.

According to media reports, a group of European countries is secretly developing a plan to send peacekeeping troops to Ukraine. Europe is concerned that U.S. security priorities lie in other areas.
