U.S. President Donald Trump said that russian dictator vladimir putin allegedly seeks to stop the fighting in Ukraine, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will be involved in peace talks.
Trump said this on Fox News.
According to him, an American delegation will go to Saudi Arabia to meet with russian representatives to "move forward in an attempt to achieve peace between Russia and Ukraine."
"We're working very hard on this," the U.S. President said.
He also confirmed that he intends to involve Zelenskyy in the negotiation process. "Yes, I will. He will be involved," Trump said, without specifying whether the talks in Saudi Arabia next week are being discussed.
In addition, Trump expressed the opinion that russia does not pose a military threat to NATO, and Putin and Zelenskyy allegedly want to stop the fighting.
The U.S. President also suggested that his meeting with putin could take place "very soon".
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Trump said that Saudi Arabia would be the meeting place for representatives of Ukraine and russia to discuss ending the war.
On February 16, a Ukrainian government delegation arrived in Saudi Arabia to prepare for Zelenskyy's visit.
