First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliya Svyrydenko announced that a Ukrainian government delegation has arrived in Saudi Arabia. It will prepare the visit of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Svyrydenko wrote about this on Facebook on Sunday, February 16.
According to her, the Ukrainian delegation began its visit to Saudi Arabia with a meeting with almost a hundred Saudi businessmen. They were presented with projects in the fields of energy, agriculture and infrastructure.
In addition, Saudi representatives were introduced to large-scale projects in the field of public-private partnership and attractive privatization opportunities with a total investment volume of USD 500 billion.
Svyrydenko added that in the coming days the delegation has dozens of meetings planned to prepare for President Zelenskyy's visit.
"We are preparing to sign important economic agreements with the countries of the region," she wrote.
The minister noted that joint efforts are already yielding results. She reported that Ukrainian exports to Saudi Arabia increased to UAH 368 million in 2024. In 2023, they amounted to USD 291 million.
According to her, economic relations between Ukraine and Saudi Arabia have not yet reached pre-war indicators. She is confident that such business forums will help achieve this result.
Recall that at the end of January this year, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Yermak said that Ukraine was preparing Zelenskyy's visit to Saudi Arabia.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in early February, Reuters reported, citing sources, that the aggressor country of russia was considering Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates as possible locations for talks with US President Donald Trump.
And on February 14, the head of the White House said that a meeting of representatives of Ukraine and russia would take place in Saudi Arabia to end the war.
