Russian occupation forces could have executed Ukrainian servicemen who were captured by them. The corresponding video is spreading on social networks.
The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Lubinets reported this on his Telegram channel on Monday, February 17.
The Ombudsman noted that russian channels published a video of the alleged execution of Ukrainian prisoners by the occupiers. According to him, the executions of prisoners of war are a deliberate policy of the aggressor country russia, which violates international humanitarian law and the Geneva Convention.
"Another cynical crime. Russian military channels publish a video of the alleged execution of Ukrainian servicemen who were captured by the Russians. In the video, you can hear Russian soldiers repeatedly being ordered to shoot prisoners of war. This emphasizes that executions are a conscious policy of Russia," Lubinets emphasized.
The Ombudsman stated that he had already sent letters to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross to put pressure on russia and prevent new such crimes from being committed. Lubinets also called on to report such cases to the "hotline" at 0800-50-17-20.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 7, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called on the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to assess the cases of executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
On January 23, the Prosecutor General's Office launched an investigation into the shooting of unarmed Ukrainian prisoners of war by russian occupiers.
Recall, in December, Lubinets reported that the number of cases of shooting of Ukrainian prisoners of war by russian occupiers at the front had increased.
