Ukrainian men aged 18-60 abroad who submitted documents by April 25, 2024, will be able to receive passports starting next week - Klymenko

Ukrainian men aged 18-60 who are abroad and submitted documents by April 25, 2024 to the Document state enterprise will be able to receive passports starting next week.

The Minister of Interior Affairs Ihor Klymenko announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports

"In fulfillment of the President's instructions, the Government has regulated the issue of issuing passports to Ukrainians abroad. Ukrainian male citizens aged 18-60 who submitted documents by April 25, 2024 to the Document state enterprise will be able to receive manufactured passports starting next week. Corresponding notifications indicating the date, time and place of arrival will be sent in the order of priority of submission of documents," he said.

Klymenko noted that it took time to normalize the process of resuming the issuance of documents in order to bring it into line with the current legislation of Ukraine.

He recalled that today the mandatory condition for issuing and receiving passports by male citizens of Ukraine aged 18-60 who are abroad remains the presence of military registration documents.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, before the new law on mobilization came into force on May 18, 2024, Ukraine suspended the provision of consular services to Ukrainian men of mobilization age who are abroad from April 23. On the same day, the Document state enterprise reported that due to technical reasons, the issuance of ready-made documents in foreign divisions of the state enterprise was suspended.

The Document state enterprise resumed accepting applications for passports for men from July 24, 2024. To receive services, men aged 18-60 must confirm the availability of valid military registration documents.
