On February 14, 2025, the 61st Munich Security Conference begins in Germany, where 60 leaders of states and governments will arrive. This year, the main topic of the meeting is russia's war against Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will lead the Ukrainian delegation at this event and will meet with top officials of the new Donald Trump administration for the first time.
Russian representatives have not come to the conference since 2022. This year, more than 60 leaders of states and governments, more than 100 ministers, as well as about 15 heads of international organizations, including representatives of NATO and the UN, will gather in Munich.
The Ukrainian delegation will be led by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and will also include the head of the Presidential Office Andrii Yermak, Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, and Deputy Head of the Office of the President Pavlo Palisa.
U.S. President Donald Trump will not personally attend the conference, and the American delegation will be led by Vice President J.D. Vance. The delegation will also include Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy for Ukraine and russia Keith Kellogg.
According to the agenda, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will speak on February 14 during the discussion Strategic Investment: The Future of U.S. - Ukraine Security Cooperation, which is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. local time.
On February 15, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to speak during the discussion Defiance and Diplomacy: Prospects for Ukraine’s Future, which starts at 10:15 a.m. local time.
During the conference, Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet with senior American officials.
United States Vice President J.D. Vance, according to the agenda, will speak on February 14 during a discussion that will begin at 2:30 p.m. local time.
U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine and russia Keith Kellogg is also scheduled to participate in the conference on February 15 during the discussion Peace Through Strength: A Plan for Ukraine, where Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha is also announced as a participant, and which will start at 6:30 p.m. local time.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is also expected in Munich. American congressmen will also take part in the discussions.
