Radiation background within normal limits after russian strike on shelter of Chornobyl NPP unit 4 – SESU

The radiation background remains within normal limits after the aggressor state of the russian federation hit the shelter covering the destroyed power unit No. 4 at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant with a drone.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine has reported this.

"After the Russian drone hit the shelter of the Chornobyl NPP’s unit 4, the radiation background indicators remain within normal limits. 0.57 μSv/h was recorded at the industrial site of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which does not exceed permissible values," the message says.

It is indicated that monitoring is ongoing.

The SESU emphasized that the situation is under control and urged to follow official reports.

Recall that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the IAEA reported that a russian strike drone with a high-explosive warhead hit the shelter covering the destroyed power unit No. 4 at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant. The structure was damaged.
