Zelenskyy gives details of military contracts for 18-year-olds

Young people aged 18 to 24 will be able to conclude one-year military contracts, which provide benefits in the form of interest-free mortgages and tuition at universities on a budget.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during a briefing with the President of the European Investment Bank Nadia Calviño, UNIAN reports.

Zelenskyy did not provide detailed terms of the contract, stating that the details would be presented "tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, in the next 2-3 days." However, he added that in one year, Ukrainians in the military will be able to earn one million hryvnias.

After a year of service, they will be able to study at any higher educational institution at the expense of the state. In addition, the state will cover all mortgage interest for such contract workers.

According to Zelenskyy, this is not the end of the list of contract terms.

As a reminder, the contract will be designed for young people aged 18 to 24, who are not subject to mobilization.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine is finalizing the development of recruitment reforms to attract people aged 18 to 25 to the Armed Forces.

On January 19, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that mobilization measures do not cover the needs of manning mechanized brigades.
