Government working on creating network of centers for training citizens for national resistance

The Ukrainian government has prepared a draft resolution on creating a network of centers for training citizens for national resistance.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk reported this on February 5.

On her Telegram channel, she wrote that an interdepartmental meeting was held on Wednesday, during which they discussed the preparation of Ukrainians for resistance to the aggressor.

"This is about the systematic preparation of the civilian population for resistance to the aggressor. This especially applies to the regions bordering Russia, which will remain our hostile neighbor even after the war," Vereshchuk noted.

According to her, such a system will become one of the components of the architecture for deterring potential aggression.

The leaders in creating centers for training citizens for national resistance will be the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At the same time, the main work in this process will fall on local authorities, and a very important role will be played by volunteer organizations.

The first and most important stage in this work will be the training of a sufficient number of instructors. They can be veterans and volunteers.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 17, 2025, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that starting from September of this year, basic combined-arms training will be introduced for students of higher educational institutions.

Later, the Ministry reported that basic combined-arms training is mandatory for all students.
