On Friday, February 7, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, all U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) staff worldwide, with some exceptions, will be placed on administrative leave.
The USAID website says this.
The exceptions include designated mission-critical personnel, core leadership, and designated programs.
For USAID staff currently working outside the United States, the Agency, in coordination with missions and the U.S. Department of State, is currently developing a plan under which the Agency will arrange and pay for return travel to the United States within 30 days and will also ensure that non-essential PSC and ISC contracts are terminated.
The Agency will consider individual exceptions and extensions of the return period based on personal or family circumstances, mobility or security considerations, or other reasons.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, U.S. President Donald Trump has sharply criticized the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), accusing the organization of widespread corruption and misuse of funds.
Earlier, CNN sources reported that employees at the headquarters of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) received a message asking them not to come to work. The Agency's headquarters was unexpectedly closed on Monday, February 3.
