AFU strike Volgograd oil refinery and Astrakhan gas processing plant - General Staff

Units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, struck the Volgograd oil refinery (Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka) and the Astrakhan gas processing plant on the night of February 3.

This is stated in a message from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The General Staff notes that both of these strategic facilities are producers of a large amount of fuel for the russian occupation army.

According to preliminary data, the primary processing units were damaged at the plant in the Volgograd Oblast, in particular, a fire is ongoing at the Astrakhan gas processing plant, and the work of the enterprise has been stopped.

The results of the damage and the extent of the damage are being clarified.

The General Staff emphasizes that combat work on strategic objects involved in ensuring the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine will continue.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi noted that February will be difficult for the Ukrainian army, but the enemy will also have a hard time. According to him, among the priorities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are the operation in the Kursk Oblast and the destruction of military objects deep inside the aggressor country.
