In January, compared to December, Ukraine reduced electricity imports by 56% to almost 189,000 MWh.
This is announced by the ExPro publication, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The report states that the reduction in imports is due to the improvement of the situation in the power system and the sufficiency of resources from domestic producers.
The largest share in the structure of electricity imports in January is occupied by Poland (30.0%), in second place is Hungary (25.5%), and in third place is Slovakia (almost 25%).

It is noted that in general, imports decreased in all directions.
In January 2025, electricity imports increased by more than 50% compared to January 2024.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2024, compared to 2023, Ukraine increased electricity imports 5.5 times to 4.4 million MWh.
