Rheinmetall CEO reveals why russia planned assassination attempt on him

The CEO of the German concern Rheinmetall, Armin Papperger, believes that the aggressor country russia planned an assassination attempt on him because moscow does not like the activities of his company.

According to LRT, Papperger said this in an interview with the BNS agency.

"I think it is quite understandable that countries like Russia are not very happy, because we, as the world's largest manufacturer of large-caliber ammunition, help Western countries a lot in terms of defense," Papperger said.

The head of Rheinmetall added that his security is currently provided by law enforcement agencies.

Recall that in July 2024, the American television channel CNN reported, citing sources, that russia planned to assassinate Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger. The assassination attempt was prevented by the U.S. and German intelligence services.

At the same time, CNN's interlocutors said that Papperger was not the only head of the defense industry of European countries whose assassination was being prepared by russia.

And yesterday, January 28, NATO officially confirmed that russia was preparing the assassination of Papperger through the activities of Rheinmetall, namely the production of weapons for Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in May 2024, the British newspaper Financial Times wrote, citing representatives of the special services of several European countries, that russia was preparing sabotage throughout Europe in order to undermine support for Ukraine.
