Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi began work at the head of the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group, which is holding back the enemy in the Donetsk Region; accordingly, Major General Andrii Hnatov moved from the position of commander of the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group to the position of deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"I introduced to the personnel the new commander of the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group - the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi," the Commander-in-Chief wrote.
He added that the enemy is concentrating the largest forces precisely in those areas that relate to the operational zone of the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group.
"Our task is to hold the line, inflict maximum losses on the Russian occupiers and take care of the Ukrainian defenders. I have set the priority tasks to restrain the onslaught of the superior enemy. Let's work together," Syrskyi wrote.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on November 29, Zelenskyy appointed Mykhailo Drapatyi as the new commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
