25 MPs suggest Rada imprison employees of territorial recruitment and social support centers for illegal mobilization

25 members of the Verkhovna Rada propose to the parliament to introduce criminal liability in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 8 years for employees of territorial recruitment and social support centers for the mobilization of those who are not subject to it.

This is stated in bill No. 12442, registered in the parliament on January 27, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

It is proposed to supplement the Criminal Code with a new article 337-1 "Violation of the procedure for conscription for military service by a military official ".

The newly introduced article provides for punishment for violation by a military official of the procedure for conscription of a citizen for military service, which led to the conscription of a citizen who is not subject to such conscription according to the law.

The violation is punishable by service restriction for a term of up to two years or detention in a disciplinary battalion for the same term, or imprisonment for a term of up to five years.

For the same act committed repeatedly or by prior conspiracy by a group of persons, or in conditions of a special period, except for martial law, the punishment is provided in the form of imprisonment for a term of from three to six years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of from one to three years.

During martial law, such violations are proposed to be punished by imprisonment for a term of from three to eight years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of from one to three years.

All of the above penalties are also provided for illegal actions that led to exemption from conscription or to discharge from military service due to health reasons.
