757 bodies of fallen defenders returned to Ukraine

The bodies of 757 fallen soldiers were returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine.

The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War has reported this.

Among the returned defenders:

  • 451 defenders from the Donetsk direction;
  • 71 from the Bakhmut direction;
  • 51 from the Vuhledar direction;
  • 13 from the Luhansk direction;
  • 137 from the Zaporizhzhia direction.

34 fallen Ukrainian soldiers were returned from morgues in russia.

The fallen defenders were returned as a result of the joint work of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Interior Affairs, the Office of the Human Rights Ombudsman, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service and other structures.

The return of the fallen defenders was also facilitated by the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The bodies of the fallen soldiers will be handed over to law enforcement agencies and forensic experts to identify the deceased.

Recall that in January, Ukraine returned home 25 military and civilians.
