U.S. President Donald Trump said he wants to meet with the president of the aggressor country russia, vladimir putin, as soon as possible to ensure an end to the war with Ukraine.

"I really would like to be able to meet with President Putin soon to get that war ended… And that's not from the standpoint of economy or anything else. It's from the standpoint of millions of lives are being wasted... It's a carnage. And we really have to stop that war,” Trump said.
Trump also told reporters that he is ready to meet with putin as soon as possible, even immediately, because every day of the postponement soldiers are dying on the battlefield.
"From what I hear, Putin would like to see me, and we'll leave as soon as we can. I'd meet immediately. Everyday we don't meet, soldiers are being killed in the battlefield," the U.S. President stressed.
Trump added that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told him that he is ready to make a deal to end the war.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 22, U.S. President Donald Trump said that the U.S. would tighten sanctions against russia and impose tariffs on all russian exports if russian dictator vladimir putin did not agree to sit at the negotiating table.
On January 23, Donald Trump said that the russian-Ukrainian war "would end immediately" if the price of oil fell.
