President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the russian night attack on the city of Zaporizhzhia, which killed one person and injured 26 others, including rescuers. He emphasized that greater sanctions are needed against the aggressor state of russia, as well as air defense systems and weapons for Ukraine.
He made this statement on Facebook.
"At night, the russian army shelled Zaporizhzhia with missiles and drones. These were strikes on residential areas and infrastructure," the message says.
According to the President, as of now, one person has been killed as a result of the attack, 26 people have been injured - including a two-month-old child.
In addition, rescuers who were liquidating the consequences were injured during the repeated shelling.
In the meantime, all relevant services are working at the scene.
"Russia's daily terror against Ukraine deserves ever greater pressure on the terrorist. Greater sanctions against russia are needed, more air defense to protect our cities and communities, and weapons for our soldiers at the front. Support for Ukraine is what saves lives, and what cannot wait," Zelenskyy stressed.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the evening of January 22, the russian occupation army attacked an energy facility in Zaporizhzhia with drones. As a result of the shelling, it was destroyed.
