German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has said that not only European countries should participate in a possible peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.
The head of the German Foreign Ministry said this in an interview with FAZ, as reported by European Pravda.
Baerbock was asked whether Germany should join the peacekeeping mission and send its troops to Ukraine.
According to her, the peacekeeping mission could become one of the elements of ensuring stable peace on the continent after a ceasefire agreement is reached between Ukraine and russia.
At the same time, Baerbock stressed that the peacekeeping mission "will require not only us, Europeans, but also others."
She believes that the more international participation there is in this mission, the greater its effectiveness will be.
"In this case, also from countries outside Europe with which putin seeks to maintain good relations," she said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the number of peacekeeping missions should be at least 200,000 people.
At the same time, Zelenskyy believes that without the United States, European countries will not be able to cope with the defense of Ukraine, and therefore American troops should also take part in the peacekeeping mission.
