Ukraine signs bilateral security agreement with Albania

In Davos, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama. During the meeting, they signed an agreement on long-term cooperation and support between Ukraine and the Republic of Albania.

This is stated in a message by the Office of the President of Ukraine.

As reported, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the aggressor country of russia, Albania has been providing Ukraine with military and humanitarian assistance and will continue to support it throughout the ten-year term of the document.

In particular, Albania will contribute to the fighter coalition - it will provide language training for Ukrainian pilots and technical personnel.

In addition, the countries will work to deepen defense-industrial cooperation. In particular, this concerns joint production with localization in Ukraine.

Separate sections concern economic partnership, security cooperation, holding the aggressor country of russia accountable, compensation for damages, sanctions against the russian federation, and cooperation in the reconstruction of Ukraine.

In addition, Albania reaffirms its support for Ukraine's future membership in the EU and NATO and the Peace Formula.

Also during the meeting, Zelenskyy and Rama discussed specific areas of defense support - something that can help Ukraine strengthen its positions on the battlefield to bring about a just and lasting peace.

Special attention was paid to the future membership of Ukraine and Albania in the European Union. After all, being a full member of the European Union is the goal of both countries.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed the official opening of the Albanian Embassy in Ukraine, which took place during the visit of the Albanian Foreign Minister last week.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 17, the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Ukraine and Albania entered into force, and Albania is opening an embassy in Ukraine.
