The Cabinet of Ministers may consider raising police salaries.
Minister of Interior Affairs Ihor Klymenko announced this at the Government Question Hour in the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
According to the Minister, police salaries have not been indexed for two years, and accordingly, they have not been increased.
At the same time, the government pays police officers an additional UAH 10,000 throughout Ukraine and UAH 30,000 in regions where hostilities are taking place.
"At the same time, we will, in the government, possibly further consider the issue of raising salaries. But it will not be across the country," said Klymenko.
He noted that today the average salary of a police officer is UAH 34,000–36,000.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the National Bank predicts that real salaries in Ukraine will exceed the pre-war level by the end of this year.
Meanwhile, the salary arrears to miners from the occupied territories amount to about UAH 500 million.
