The amount of salary arrears to miners from occupied territories amounts to about UAH 500 million.
Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko announced this at the Government Question Hour in the Verkhovna Rada, which was broadcast by Oleksii Honcharenko, a Member of Parliament from the European Solidarity faction, on his Youtube channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Today, if we talk about arrears... By the way, at the end of last year we managed to significantly reduce the salary arrears in general. Today, it amounts to about UAH 500 million on old debts," he said regarding the salary arrears to miners from occupied territories.
Halushchenko emphasized that as a result of the war and hostilities, it is in the East of Ukraine that coal mining facilities are being lost.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada extended the moratorium on the implementation of enforcement proceedings and measures of compulsory execution of decisions regarding state-owned enterprises in the energy sector, the imposition of arrests and prohibitions on the alienation of property in such enforcement proceedings, as well as the moratorium on initiating bankruptcy cases against state-owned coal mining enterprises until January 1, 2026.
