A decision is in force in Ukraine to ban negotiations with russian dictator vladimir putin.
This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in an interview with European Pravda on Wednesday, January 15.
Sybiha stressed that the possibility of involving the aggressor country of russia in the negotiations has not been considered at this time. According to him, further steps in this regard will be discussed with the new United States administration. The Foreign Minister emphasized that the taboo on negotiations with putin has not changed.
"Yes, this decision is still in effect... As of today, this decision of the National Security and Defense Council is in effect," Sybiha said.
The Foreign Minister also noted that Donald Trump's approach of "peace through strength" correlates with the Ukrainian peace formula.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 14, Sybiha stated that the allies are not forcing Ukraine to make quick peace with the aggressor country of russia.
On January 9, President-elect Donald Trump's future special representative for Ukraine and russia, Keith Kellogg, said that within 100 days of his inauguration, he would try to find a fair and credible solution to end russia's war against Ukraine.
On January 10, White House National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby said that Ukraine and russia are not ready for negotiations at this time.
