The governor of the Saratov Oblast, Roman Busargin, reported this on January 12.

"The process of controlled fuel burnout continues. Specialists are taking all necessary measures to eliminate it around the clock," Busargin wrote.

According to him, the area of ​​the fire at the oil depot is allegedly decreasing.

Busargin also assured that on the fifth day of the burning of the oil depot in Engels, no excess concentration of harmful substances in the air was allegedly detected.

The russian Telegram channel "VChK-OGPU" wrote, citing sources, that three tanks were destroyed as a result of the attack. Each could store up to 120,000 cubic meters of fuel.

The channel also claims that six more tanks were damaged. In addition, the tank farm that stored fuel for the military airfield was put out of action.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of January 7-8, Ukrainian drones attacked the Kombinat Kristal oil depot in the city of Engels.
