Pentagon explains why it did not use all funds for Ukraine approved by Congress

During the Ramstein format meeting, the US announced the allocation of another USD 500 million in military aid to Ukraine, but several billion dollars remained unused, Radio Svoboda reports.

Ryder explained that only the current American government can decide how to use these funds.

"It is important to understand that this is the authority of the government to use these funds. I will not speculate on what the next administration may do. But we know that there is strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in our Congress. As you heard from Secretary Austin, the defense of Ukraine matters. This is not just about Ukraine - it is about international security and respect for the rights and rules of the international order," Ryder said.

He added that the US must always "balance its own readiness needs" with what it can do to support Ukraine.
