On January 6, Ukrainian dancer, choreographer and serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Volodymyr Rakov was killed while performing a combat mission. He was 30 years old.
The Novyi Kanal TV channel has reported this.
Rakov served in the 2nd Rifle Battalion of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Rakov gained wide popularity in 2013, becoming the winner of the sixth season of the Everybody Dance! television show. After winning, he continued to cooperate with the project as a choreographer for the next two seasons.
In 2018, together with his Wonder Crew team, he won first place at the prestigious international competition World of Dance in Berlin.
TV presenter Olha Freimut called the deceased soldier "an aesthete, an angel, a legend and a hero" on social networks, adding that he "gave his life for the freedom of Ukraine".
Information about the time and place of farewell to Volodymyr Rakov will be announced later.
As previously reported, a Scottish volunteer medic who served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine was killed at the front.
