Trump does not rule out use of troops to establish control over Greenland

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump does not rule out the possibility of using military force to establish control over Greenland or the Panama Canal.

This is reported by Politico.

When asked whether he would rule out economic or military coercion to achieve this goal, Trump replied: "I’m not going to commit to that. You might have to do something."

He stressed that these territories are important to the United States from the point of view of economic security.

"We need Greenland for national security purposes. People really don’t even know if Denmark has any legal right to it, but if they do, they should give it up, because we need it for national security," Trump said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 23, Trump said that possession and control over the huge island is an absolute necessity for the United States.

The Danish government announced a significant increase in defense spending for Greenland, hours after U.S. President-elect Donald Trump reiterated his desire to establish control over the Arctic territory.
