Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podoliak said that the team of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is beginning to analyze the nature of the war in Ukraine in more depth. He said this on January 7 in an interview with the We-Ukraine channel, commenting on the postponement of the visit to Ukraine of Trump's Special Representative for Ukraine and russia Keith Kellogg.
"This is a positive signal. The transitional Trump administration already has a deep understanding of the nature of this war, a deep understanding of the motives of the Russian Federation. A deep understanding that asking Russia for something and it will respond adequately is impossible. We need to look for tools of significant influence on the Russian Federation," Podoliak noted.
He added that Kellogg's decision to postpone the visit to Ukraine indicates the desire of the transitional administration to better understand what is happening: "The transitional administration wants to imagine more clearly what kind of war this is."
Recall that Trump's special representative for Ukraine Kellogg postponed his visit to Kyiv.
