Donald Trump's future special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg has postponed a planned study tour to Kyiv and other European capitals, which will now take place after the inauguration of the US President-elect.
This was reported by Reuters.
Four sources of the agency confirmed that the visit was postponed. Kellogg is expected to visit Ukraine after Donald Trump takes office, but the exact date has not yet been determined. The reasons for the postponement of the trip of an official from the future Trump administration remain unclear.
As the publication notes, retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg, who is planned to be appointed special envoy for Ukraine and russia, was originally supposed to visit Kyiv in early January. Meetings with officials in European capitals, such as Rome and Paris, were also being prepared for this.
Recall, in late November last year, it became known that Trump had decided on the candidacy of the US special envoy for Ukraine and russia.
The new special envoy became Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg, 80. He served as national security adviser to U.S. Vice President Mike Pence and later served as chief of staff to the National Security Council during Trump's first term.
On December 18, Kellogg said that Ukraine and russia were ready for talks.
