Peace agreement between Ukraine and russia may appear by Easter - Sky News

A peace agreement between Ukraine and russia may be reached by Easter and will depend on the parties' willingness to make some concessions.

This was reported to Sky News by Robert Clark, an expert from the American analytical center Yorktown Institute, on Tuesday, January 7.

Clark noted that concluding a peace agreement would be an extremely difficult decision for Ukraine. The publication recalls that the newly elected US President Donald Trump stated that ending the war in Ukraine is one of the priorities of his international policy. Trump emphasized his readiness to end the war in 24 hours, but did not name any way to do this.

"An agreement may be reached by Easter. I think people should really respect the fact that this is Ukraine's decision. After all, this is not America and not Britain. I think the American side will consider some kind of agreement by Easter," Clark emphasized.

According to the expert, the possibility of concluding a peace agreement comes down to the willingness of russian dictator putin to make concessions, especially regarding the Kursk Oblast, as well as what Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is willing to sacrifice.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 2, Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office Mykhailo Podoliak stated that the aggressor country of russia was not forced to pay a high enough price for the war against Ukraine, so there can be no peace negotiations.

On December 9, Trump confirmed that he had spoken with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the possibility of ending the war.

As we will recall, on November 15, Zelenskyy stated that under Trump, the war in Ukraine would end faster.
