Umerov appoints Kubrakov his advisor

Defense Minister Rustem Umerov has appointed former Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction - Minister of Community, Territorial and Infrastructure Development Oleksandr Kubrakov as his advisor.

Umerov announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"I have appointed Oleksandr Kubrakov as my advisor on a voluntary basis. His experience in the positions of Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Head of Ukravtodor is important and will help improve the supply and logistics system in the Armed Forces of Ukraine," he said.

Umerov is confident that Kubrakov's state and practical experience will contribute to increasing the efficiency of defense processes and strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 9, 2024, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine - Minister of Community, Territorial and Infrastructure Development Oleksandr Kubrakov. According to the explanatory note to the Verkhovna Rada's resolution, Kubrakov was dismissed from his post in order to create a separate Ministry of Community Development, Territories, and Housing and Communal Services from the Ministry of Infrastructure. Kubrakov has held this position since December 1, 2022.

Since May 2021, Kubrakov has been the Minister of Infrastructure, and in 2019-2021 he served as the Head of Ukravtodor.
