Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in Damascus (Syria) delivered a message from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the new leader of Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa.
Sybiha announced this on the social network X, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Today in Damascus, I met with the head of the Syrian administration, Ahmed al-Sharaa, and personally delivered a message from President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the Syrian people: we are with you and are ready to help restore normal life, stability, and food security," he said.
Sybiha noted that Ukraine is ready to restore diplomatic ties and political dialogue with a new Syria that respects international law, including the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
"We rely on a new Syria that respects international law, including the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. This will pave the way for the full restoration of our diplomatic ties, political dialogue and diplomatic presence. We are ready to develop cooperation in a number of areas," he noted.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 27, Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine had sent 500 tons of wheat flour to Syria. He noted that Ukraine wishes Syria and its people security, stability and recovery, emphasizing that Ukraine knows the true value of these things.
Earlier, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is interested in stabilizing the situation in Syria, and therefore intends to support the necessary efforts of partners and support the Syrian people in food security.
