Ukraine sends 500 tons of flour to Syria – Zelenskyy

Ukraine has sent 500 tons of wheat flour to Syria.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on X, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"As promised, we are supporting the Syrian people in their difficult time. 500 tons of Ukrainian wheat flour are already on their way to Syria as part of our humanitarian program "Grain from Ukraine" in cooperation with the WFP (World Food Program). It is planned that 33,250 families, or 167,000 people, will receive flour in the coming weeks. Each package weighs 15 kilograms and can feed a family of five for a month," he said.

Zelenskyy added that Ukraine wishes Syria and its people security, stability and recovery, emphasizing that Ukraine knows the true value of these things.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy previously stated that Ukraine is interested in stabilizing the situation in Syria, and therefore intends to support the necessary efforts of partners and support the people of Syria in food security.

Minister of Agriculture of Ukraine Vitalii Koval said that Ukraine is ready to supply food to Syria after the overthrow of the Bashar al-Assad regime.
