The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has restored the operation of three key notarial registers after a large-scale failure that occurred on December 19 after a russian cyberattack.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Justice.
Thus, after a large-scale cyberattack by the russians, the Unified Register of Powers of Attorney, the Inheritance Register and the Unified Register of Special Forms of Notarial Documents became operational.
It is indicated that from now on, notaries can fully register powers of attorney, wills and inheritance cases, as well as check special forms.
The Ministry of Justice clarified that all notarial actions that were performed during the absence of access to the registers will be recorded within 5 working days.
"Enhanced cyber protection measures have been implemented. We are working on opening other registers," the ministry added.
As a reminder, on December 19, a large-scale failure of state registers occurred in Ukraine. The work of all state registers accountable to the Ministry of Justice was suspended. Vice Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna stated that the data leak is not confirmed, and it will take at least 2 weeks to restore it.
The Security Service of Ukraine has opened criminal proceedings over a cyberattack - one of the versions is that russian special services are behind this cyberattack. At the same time, the SSU could not claim that the data leak was avoided.
At the same time, russian hackers stated that they had stolen and deleted a total of more than 1 billion lines of data, including those stored on servers in Poland.
