Russian dictator vladimir putin has apologized to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for the "tragic incident" with the Azerbaijan Airlines plane. However, the dictator did not admit to the downing of the plane.

The kremlin reported that the russian dictator called the president of Azerbaijan. The russian media informs that the conversation took place at the initiative of the russian side.
They discussed the crash of the AZAL passenger plane. According to the kremlin, putin apologized to Aliyev for the fact that the "tragic incident occurred in Russian airspace", and not for the downing of the Embraer 190 plane in Grozny.
During the conversation with Aliyev, putin claimed that the Azerbaijan Airlines plane, which was flying from Baku to Grozny on December 25, tried to land twice. The dictator also said that at the moment the plane was approaching the airports of Grozny, Mozdok and Vladikavkaz, Ukrainian drones attacked, and russian air defense "repelled these attacks."
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, an Embraer 190 passenger plane of Azerbaijan Airlines crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan on December 25. It was flying flight J2-8243 from Baku to Grozny.
