The Cabinet of Ministers has established that all the clergy liable for military service are subject to booking according to the list of positions approved by the State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience.
This is stated in Resolution No. 1498 of December 26, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Corresponding changes have been made to the Procedure for the Booking of Persons Liable for Military Service for the period of mobilization and for wartime.
It is provided that the booking or cancellation of the deferral of clergy is carried out through the Diia portal using lists or an application in electronic form, which are formed by an authorized person of the State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience.
The granted deferral is subject to cancellation in the event of dismissal from the position of a clergyman upon the application of the State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience in electronic form to cancel the booking of an employee liable for military service, which is formed on the basis of information submitted by a legal entity - a religious organization.
Religious organizations are recognized as critically important for the functioning of the economy and ensuring the vital activity of the population according to the list and criteria approved by the State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, a new procedure for the booking from mobilization to the army has been in effect since December 1.
All critically important enterprises must confirm their status to book their employees from mobilization to the army by February 28, 2025.
On December 24, the Cabinet of Ministers extended the term of existing bookings for a month due to a cyberattack on state registers.
