Pope accepts invitation to Ukraine, but date of visit not yet set – UGCC

The Pope has accepted an invitation to visit Ukraine, but the date is not yet known.

The head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), Sviatoslav Shevchuk, stated this in an interview with Radio Svoboda.

The head of the UGCC claims that the Pope does not have a visit to Ukraine in his immediate plans, in particular, in 2025.

"There is no date yet, but Pope Francis sometimes likes to make surprises. He can announce a visit literally a month before he decides to come to Ukraine. Therefore, we enter this new year with hope. With the hope that a just peace will still reign in Ukraine," said the head of the UGCC.
