The Ukrzaliznytsia joint-stock company has removed russian language from railway tickets.
Deputy Minister of Communities and Territories Development Tymur Tkachenko announced this on his Facebook page, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
It is noted that from now on, information on travel documents will be duplicated in Ukrainian and English.
In addition, document forms have been approved for printing in self-service terminals, which makes it possible to introduce new services for passengers on rail transport.
The report says that this is an important step within the framework of European integration, as Ukrainian railways currently play a key role in passenger transportation.
"The refusal of duplication in Russian is not only a symbolic, but also a practical step towards establishing Ukrainian as the only state language. The use of English contributes to integration into the international space, improves convenience for foreign passengers and demonstrates European service standards. This is not the final appearance of the ticket, it will be somewhat improved, but the main thing now is the absence of Russian on it," Tkachenko wrote.
As a test, a ticket with prediction was made.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in late October, language ombudsman Taras Kremin announced "offensive" Ukrainization.
