Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez commented on the possibility of Spanish military personnel joining the peacekeeping mission, the sending of which to Ukraine is currently being discussed in the West.
A correspondent for Politico asked him the relevant question.
Sánchez was asked whether he intends to support a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine after the possible end of the war.
"We do not see the deployment of Spanish troops on Ukrainian land," Sánchez said.
Recall that earlier this month, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy allowed the deployment of foreign peacekeepers in Ukraine to guarantee the country's security for a while, until it becomes a member of the North Atlantic Alliance.
The day before, Reuters reported, citing sources, that European officials discussing the sending of a peacekeeping mission to Ukraine believe that its number should be about 100,000 people.
We also reported that US President-elect Donald Trump supported the idea of sending peacekeepers to Ukraine, but rejected the participation of US military personnel in it.
