Trump’s future special envoy for Ukraine and russia Kellogg says that Ukraine and russia ready for negotiations

Keith Kellogg, who will become the U.S. special envoy for Ukraine and russia in the future, has said that both the Ukrainian and russian sides are ready to hold talks.

Kellogg said this on the air of the American Fox TV channel.

The host of the program noted that Ukraine and russia are close to exhaustion and asked if this is not the right moment for negotiations.

"I think both sides are ready. Think of a cage fight: you've got two fighters and both want to tap out; you need a referee to kind of separate them. I think President Donald J. Trump can do that," Kellogg replied.

Recall that at the end of November this year it became known that Trump had decided on the candidate for the U.S. special envoy for Ukraine and russia.

80-year-old Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg is to take the post. He served as National Security Advisor to U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, and later was Chief of Staff of the U.S. National Security Council during Trump's first term.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 17, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Yermak said that real peace talks would begin only when russia began to lack the resources to continue its aggression.

Earlier, NBC News reported, citing sources, that the Trump team had held discussions with the administration of current U.S. President Joseph Biden and Ukrainian officials about ending the russian-Ukrainian war.
