Russian dictator vladimir putin will not be invited to the G20 summit, which will be held in late November 2025 in the Republic of South Africa (South Africa).
The representative of the President of South Africa, Vincent Magwenya, has said this to the russian propaganda agency TASS.
According to him, the legal situation has not changed since the BRICS summit. The meeting took place in Johannesburg in August.
Putin, whose country is a member of the BRICS, did not attend the summit of the group because he was not invited by the South African authorities because of the arrest warrant for him by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
"We cannot influence the decision of the ICC in any way," Magwenya said.
As a reminder, on March 17, 2023, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for russian dictator vladimir putin on charges of illegally deporting children from the occupied territories of Ukraine.
The warrant stipulates that countries that have ratified the Rome Statute (there are 124 such states) must arrest putin and transfer him to the international court in The Hague.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on September 2, 2024, the russian dictator visited Mongolia, but the country's authorities did not arrest him.
Later, Mongolia stated that they were unable to arrest putin, allegedly due to its high energy dependence on russia.
We also wrote that in August, Mexico stated that they would not arrest putin if he were to appear on the territory of the country.
