France to continue supplying SCALP cruise missiles to Ukraine - Ambassador Vessier

French Ambassador to Ukraine Gael Vessier said that his country intends to continue supplying SCALP cruise missiles (analogous to the British Storm Shadow) to the Ukrainian army.

Vessier said this in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

The Ambassador admitted that the French army does not have many SCALP missiles, but despite this, France intends to continue supplying them to Ukraine.

"We are doing everything we can, and we are sending new French SCALP missiles to Ukraine, the UK is sending several Storm Shadows, and the Americans are providing ATACMS," Vessier said.

He recalled that France had no "red lines" regarding the use of SCALP missiles to strike targets on russian territory.

As a reminder, back in September, the possibility of the Ukrainian military using Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles remained a big question mark, since approval for this had to be obtained not only from London and Paris, but also from Washington.

This is due to the fact that Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles contain American-made components. Therefore, their use by a third party requires permission from the United States, Great Britain, and France.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 20, Bloomberg reported, citing sources, that the Armed Forces of Ukraine first used Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles to strike the territory of the russian federation.

The strike was carried out on the territory of the estate of the princes Baryatinsky near the settlement of Maryino, Kursk Oblast.

At that time, analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) suggested that the target of the Ukrainian military could be the operational headquarters of the russian army group operating on this section of the front.

According to unconfirmed media reports, 18 occupiers, including a general of the North Korean army, were killed as a result of the missile strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
