Ukraine not ready for negotiations with russia to end war – Yermak

Ukraine is not ready for negotiations with the aggressor country russia to end the war due to the lack of factors for the formation of strong negotiating positions.

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, said this in an interview with the Karpiak on Suspilne project.

For the russian dictator putin, it is important to continue the war on the territory of Ukraine, which is why our state is negotiating with partners to strengthen itself, said Yermak. According to him, there is currently a shortage of weapons and there are no clear guarantees that would prevent a possible next attack by the russian federation.

"Therefore, to start negotiations, Ukraine must be strong, and then it will be able to talk with the Russian Federation on equal terms. Because everything that is currently being heard from the Kremlin is the language of ultimatums," Yermak emphasized.

The head of the President's Office emphasized that Ukraine did not provoke the war in any way, so it is necessary to get rid of russian narratives about "protecting" someone, since russia does not even defend its own territory.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 11, Yermak said that the U.S. President-elect Donald Trump definitely wants to stop the war of the aggressor country russia against Ukraine, and end it with a just peace.

On December 11, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podoliak reported that Ukraine is ready for negotiations with russia on the basis of international law, as well as fair conditions and a legal framework.

As we recall, on November 15, Zelenskyy said that under Trump, the war in Ukraine would end faster.
