The U.S. President-elect Donald Trump definitely wants to end the war of the aggressor country russia against Ukraine, and end it with a just peace.
The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Yermak said this in an interview with the Karpiak na Suspilnomu project on Wednesday, December 11.
Yermak noted that the meeting and conversation of the presidents of the U.S., Ukraine and France was a response to russian disinformation that it is supposedly Ukraine that does not want peace. According to him, Trump treats Ukraine with respect, and it is good that preparatory consultations with his team are taking place even before the inauguration.
"After the meeting of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy with the elected U.S. President Donald Trump in Paris, there is an understanding that Trump definitely wants to end the war of the Russian Federation in Ukraine," the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine said.
At the same time, the U.S. President-elect wants to end the war with a just peace, Yermak stressed. In his opinion, it is impossible for the United States to support a dictatorship. A just peace for Ukraine is the restoration of territorial integrity and the operation of international law, the head of the President's Office emphasized.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 11, the U.S. President-elect Donald Trump called russia's war with Ukraine a priority problem that he must resolve.
On December 9, Trump confirmed that he had spoken with Zelenskyy about the possibility of ending the war and emphasized the Ukrainian President's readiness for negotiations.
