Ukrnafta has attracted EUR 80 million from EBRD

PJSC Ukrnafta, part of the Naftogaz Group, has received EUR 80 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the construction of a modern distributed gas generation facility.

This was announced in a statement by the company on its official website, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The statement said that grant support in the amount of EUR 22 million from the United States of America and the Netherlands has also been announced, also for energy generation purposes.

"The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has remained a reliable partner of Ukraine for many years. Today's agreement is the first agreement within the framework of a large investment package for state and private companies approved by the bank's board of directors on December 4. The EUR 80 million loan provided to Ukrnafta will help build a new modern gas generation facility, which will strengthen Ukraine's energy sustainability," emphasized First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliya Svyrydenko.

It is noted that the funds raised will be used to build approximately 100 MW of gas-fired distributed power plants and cogeneration capacities in various regions of Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in January-June 2024, compared to the same period last year, the largest oil producing company Ukrnafta reduced its net profit by 25% to UAH 10.6 billion.
