Ukraine supports the Syrian people and is ready to restore diplomatic relations in the future.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha has stated this on X.
"Assad has fallen. This has always been and will be the case with all dictators who rely on Putin. He always betrays those who rely on him. Now the main goal is to restore security in Syria and effectively protect people from violence," noted Sybiha.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of making efforts to stabilize the region, to ensure political dialogue in Syria for the functioning of state institutions.
"We express our readiness to pave the way for the restoration of relations in the future and confirm our support for the Syrian people," said the Minister.
Recall that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad could have died in a plane crash.
On November 27, 2024, Syrian opposition groups led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) launched a large-scale offensive in the Aleppo province in northwestern Syria.
Within days, the opposition groups had established control over a dozen towns. They later captured Aleppo, one of the country's largest cities.
