Russia transferring remains of weapons and withdrawing ships from Syria – Defense Intelligence

The aggressor country russia is withdrawing ships from the base in Tartus and transferring the remains of weapons by aircraft from the Khmeimim air base.

The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has reported this.

The Defense Intelligence noted that the rapid process of overthrowing the regime of Bashar al-Assad was marked by the shameful flight of the russian contingent from Syria.

"After losing control over Damascus against the backdrop of the continued offensive operation of opposition forces in the provinces of Latakia, Hama and Tartus, the Russian army withdrew its warships from the naval base in Tartus, which Assad had previously given to Moscow for use as payment for his security," the report says.

Thus, on December 8, 2024, the Admiral Grigorovich frigate of the russian Black Sea Fleet and the Inzhener Trubin cargo ship of the russian Northern Fleet left Tartus for the Mediterranean Sea.

The russians are also transferring the remnants of their weapons and military equipment from Syria by military aircraft from the Khmeimim air base.

"After the capture of Damascus, the forces opposing Assad are moving to the coast - the probable loss of Russia's military bases in Tartus and Khmeimim will finalize the Kremlin's defeat in the Middle East," the Defense Intelligence added.

Recall that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad could have died in a plane crash.
