The first deputy head of the Patrol Police Department, Oleksii Biloshytskyi, emphasized that the police are already fighting as part of various brigades.
He told this in an interview with the Ukrainian News Agency.
"Policemen are fighting and remain policemen. At the beginning of the full-scale war, before the creation of the National Police brigades, some decided to mobilize to military brigades, but now the police are fighting as part of the National Police units. Now they include 10 percent of the National Police personnel - this is the Liut brigade, the Khyzhak Patrol Police Department unit, and rifle battalions. And another 25 percent of police officers serve in front-line areas. This work is extremely important," Biloshytskyi said.
The head of the patrol police noted that a number of police officers have mobilized in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, so what kind of mobilization can we talk about when the police officers are already fighting.
"A number of people mobilized both at the beginning of the invasion and later. Thousands of patrol police are performing combat missions right now as part of the Khyzhak combat brigade. So what kind of mobilization can we talk about if we are already at war and "piling on" the enemy? The patrol police took up arms from the first day of the full-scale offensive," Biloshytskyi emphasized.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the police stated that cooperation with the territorial recruitment and social support centers on mobilization takes a lot of effort, but is a requirement of time. The head of the National Police, Ivan Vyhivskyi, spoke out against granting police officers the authority to issue summonses separately from the military. The country's chief police officer also responded to officials who propose throwing 100,000 police officers to the front.
