Sullivan promises Ukraine "avalanche" of military aid. What could be included in package

In a conversation with Andrii Yermak, Jake Sullivan promised that by mid-January Ukraine would receive hundreds of thousands of shells, thousands of missiles and hundreds of armored vehicles. In addition, the US agreed to allocate USD 20 billion in loans secured by profits from frozen russian assets.

The Guardian reports this with reference to its own sources in Washington.

The journalists recalled that the day before, the Ukrainian delegation led by the head of the President's Office Andrii Yermak met with the White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.

"The official, who was widely criticized in the Ukrainian information space for his policy of "containment of escalation", promised to provide Ukraine with hundreds of thousands of additional artillery shells, thousands of missiles and hundreds of armored vehicles by mid-January. The United States will also help Ukraine with the training of mobilizers, which will be carried out abroad," the journalists note.

In addition, Sullivan recalled the practically finalized decision to provide Ukraine with a USD 20 billion loan guaranteed by frozen russian assets and announced the search for "new ways to impose sanctions" against russia.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan denied information that the Biden administration is open to returning nuclear weapons to Ukraine, stating that "this is not being considered."

Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal, citing US and Congressional officials, stated that the Biden administration does not have time to use the billions of dollars that lawmakers have allocated to arm Ukraine.
