President’s advisor again announces absence of plans to mobilize 18-year-olds

Advisor to the President of Ukraine Dmytro Lytvyn said that the country's leadership is not preparing to lower the mobilization age and call up 18-year-old men for military service.

Lytvyn wrote about this on the X social network (formerly Twitter).

"Nobody is preparing any mobilization of 18-year-olds," the presidential advisor said.

He left these words in the comments under the post of the user Housepainter (@go2the5dogs), who wrote about the advisability of taking young men aged 15-17 out of the country amid reports in some media outlets about the alleged preparation of lowering the mobilization age.

Recall that on December 2, the American publication The Washington Post wrote that the administration of the current US President Joseph Biden is disappointed with Ukraine's reluctance to call up 18-year-olds.

Back in October 2024, Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office Serhii Leshchenko said that the US was pressuring President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to lower the mobilization age in order to draft men aged 18-25.

And on November 18, the head of state, in an interview for a national telethon, stated that the country's leadership had no plans to lower the mobilization age.
